Sumo Logic is a Redwood City cloud-native SaaS company (founded 2010 by ArcSight veterans Kumar Saurabh and Christian Beedgen) that does log management, security analytics and observability — a cloud SIEM and monitoring platform. It IPO'd on the NASDAQ in 2020, then was taken private by Francisco Partners for about $1.7 billion in May 2023. Honest caveat: it is now a mature, PE-owned company rather than a hot startup, and employee reviews since the takeover describe decent work-life balance but a slow pace, below-market compensation and small raises, and few perks beyond working from home.
