San Francisco, CA · founded 2022
Anysphere is the company behind Cursor, the AI code editor, founded in 2022 by four MIT graduates (Michael Truell, Sualeh Asif, Arvid Lunnemark, Aman Sanger). It scaled from a research project to one of the fastest-growing software companies on record, reportedly passing a $29.3B valuation in late 2025. Culturally it describes itself as deliberately flat, small and 'talent dense', an in-office-heavy 'haven for self-motivated individual contributors' — a high-intensity, high-autonomy environment. Honest caveat: the company publishes essentially nothing about benefits, leave, or perks, so what you actually get beyond equity in a hot startup is not documented publicly and would need to be confirmed with a recruiter.
