San Francisco, CA · founded 2015
Brave Software makes the privacy-focused Brave browser and search engine, positioning itself as an anti-Big-Tech, privacy-first challenger. It was co-founded by Brendan Eich, who created JavaScript and previously co-founded Mozilla and served as its CEO. The company is fully remote with a deliberately flat org, no mandatory meetings, no on-call and no core hours, so the work is autonomous and asynchronous. Honest caveats: it is a comparatively small, hyper-growth company whose model is entangled with crypto (the BAT token and ad rewards), which is polarizing, and its own careers page publishes almost nothing about health, retirement or leave benefits.
