San Francisco, CA · founded 2017
Brex is a corporate-card and spend-management fintech founded in 2017 by two young Brazilian engineers, Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi, out of Y Combinator; it now serves 35,000+ companies. The culture is unapologetically intense and founder-flavoured — the careers page literally frames the work as hard ('Working here should feel hard, not difficult') and leans on a startup-alumni mythology. Day to day it's a coordinated hybrid: three fixed in-office days (Mon/Wed/Thu) with lunches, offsites and commuter benefits, softened by up to four fully remote weeks a year. Per Wikipedia, Brex was acquired by Capital One in April 2026 — a big change to weigh if you're joining now.
