San Francisco, CA · founded 2012
Figma is, by most accounts, one of the nicer places to work in this batch — a design-led company where the craft bar is high, colleagues are talented and collaborative, and the culture scores near the top on Blind (~4.3). Rituals like the annual Maker Week (the whole company stops to build whatever it's curious about) are real, pay is competitive, and there's no blanket return-to-office mandate, with remote hiring open across the US and Canada, which helps parents and non-Bay folks. The turbulence is recent and external: the $20B Adobe acquisition collapsed in 2023, the company went public in 2025, headcount roughly doubled in a year, and reviewers now flag senior-staff turnover, an unclear AI/product direction, and top-down decisions that can feel slow. It's a genuinely good, humane environment; just know you're joining a freshly public company under heavy pressure to prove its next act against AI-design competition.
