GRAIL is a Menlo Park biotech building early cancer detection, best known for Galleri, a multi-cancer early-detection blood test launched in 2021. It began inside Illumina, was acquired by Illumina in 2020, then spun back out as an independent public company (Nasdaq: GRAL) in mid-2024 after EU regulators ordered the divestment. Its own culture pages are intensely mission-first — employees talk about the 'adrenaline' of the cancer-detection mission and long hours — so expect a purpose-driven but demanding, still-unsettled post-spinoff environment.
