San Francisco, CA · founded 2006
Kabam is a mobile-game studio behind Marvel Contest of Champions, Disney Mirrorverse and Shop Titans. It started in 2006 as Watercooler Inc. making social-network apps, rebranded to Kabam in 2010, and was acquired by South Korean publisher Netmarble in 2016. It is headquartered in Vancouver with studios in Montreal, Austin and San Francisco. The public culture — dog-friendly HQ, 'BC top employer' recognition, tight-knit-community tone — is Vancouver-centric; the SF office is a US satellite, so a US hire should confirm which specific benefits (health from day one, 401(k) match, flexible PTO) apply to their location.
