Mammoth Biosciences

Brisbane, CA · founded 2017

Mammoth Biosciences is a CRISPR company co-founded in 2017 by Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna together with Trevor Martin, Janice Chen and Lucas Harrington, built around 'ultra-small' Cas enzymes such as CasPhi and Cas14 that are small enough to deliver through viral vectors. It first pursued CRISPR-based diagnostics (its DETECTR platform was used for COVID-19 testing) and in 2023 announced a refocus onto CRISPR-based therapies, with pharma partnerships including Vertex and Bayer. Honest caveat: at the time of this collection the company's public website and job board were unreachable or parked and no current benefits information could be sourced, so its present status and offerings should be treated as uncertain.
