Nuro is a Mountain View autonomous-driving company founded in 2016 by two ex-Waymo engineers. After building custom delivery robots for years, it pivoted in 2024 to licensing its Level 4 'Nuro Driver' software to automakers and mobility partners, and in 2025 raised money from Uber and Nvidia at a roughly $6B valuation alongside an Uber/Lucid robotaxi deal. It is a smaller, mission-driven engineering shop (~700 people) that has been through two rounds of deep layoffs (2022 and 2023), so the upside is real robotics work and RSU ownership, but the honest caveat is a company still reinventing its business model.
