ParadeDB is a Y Combinator (S23) developer-tools startup building state-of-the-art full-text search, vector retrieval, and analytics directly inside Postgres (its pg_search extension is built on the Rust search library Tantivy), so teams can avoid running a separate Elasticsearch system. It is used in production by companies like BILT Rewards, Modern Treasury, and Alibaba Cloud, and raised a $12M Series A led by Craft Ventures in July 2025. This is a very small, senior, engineering-dense team (roughly a dozen people, many from MongoDB, Oracle, AWS, EnterpriseDB, and Twitter) that is remote-first across the US and Canada and openly prizes correctness, customer contact, and open-source stewardship. Honest caveat: at this size and stage benefits are lean and largely US-only, published policy is thin, and database-infrastructure work here is deep, correctness-obsessed systems engineering rather than a broad generalist product shop.
