How healthcare is paid forNot single-payer: subsidies at public institutions plus compulsory medical savings, catastrophic insurance and a safety net. Subsidised rates are for citizens and permanent residents ONLY, and PRs get a materially smaller subsidy than citizens. From 1 September 2025 a polyclinic consultation costs a subsidised citizen S$18.50, a permanent resident S$39.50, and a non-resident S$76.10 with no subsidy, plus a S$75 deposit at registration.
