San Francisco, CA · founded 2013
Sourcegraph builds developer tools for searching and understanding large codebases, and has pivoted hard into AI coding (Cody, then the Amp agent). It is a global, all-remote company that gathers twice a year in person. Honest caveat: it has been through repeated strategic shifts and headcount reductions, relicensed its code away from open source in 2023, and announced in December 2025 that its Amp agent would spin out as a separate company, so it is a small, fast-changing shop rather than a stable big-tech employer.
