the legal floor where they are
Set by law, not by Super Retail Group. It applies to every employer in Brisbane.
| PTO | 20 (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards) |
|---|---|
| Birthing-parent leave | 52 (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards) |
| Partner leave | 2 (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards) |
| State pension | superannuation: employer contributes 12% of earnings on top of salary (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards) |
| Disability rights at work | Disability Discrimination Act 1992; adjustments owed unless they cause unjustifiable hardship (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards) |
| How healthcare is paid for | Medicare, funded from taxation plus a 2% Medicare Levy. It pays 85% of the schedule fee out of hospital and 100% for GP attendances; where a doctor bulk bills the patient pays nothing, and where they charge above the schedule the gap is uncapped. Public hospital treatment as a public patient is free. NOT covered: most adult dental, most optometry, and ambulance in several states. CRITICAL FOR FOREIGN WORKERS: temporary visa holders, including subclass 482, are NOT eligible for Medicare unless they come from one of eleven reciprocal-agreement countries, and even then cover is limited. Everyone else holds the visa subject to condition 8501 and must buy Overseas Visitor Health Cover for themselves and every dependant for the life of the visa. (Fair Work Act 2009 National Employment Standards.) |
