| Degree paid upfront | Child Tuition Grant Program (TGP): Stanford pays toward a DEPENDENT CHILD's undergraduate tuition at any accredited college, capped at one-half of Stanford's own annual tuition and prorated by the parent's FTE. Staff qualify after FIVE years of continuous benefits-eligible service and must work 50% time or greater; faculty and senior staff qualify from the start of the appointment. Contingent (temporary, casual, student) employees are excluded, and so are staff of affiliates like Stanford Health Care. |
|---|---|
| Hours a week to qualify | Stanford sets the tuition-grant floor in hours: 19 or fewer hours a week is not eligible at all; 20-39 hours a week qualifies but the grant is prorated by FTE (75% FTE, which Stanford defines as 30 hours a week, gets 75% of the grant); 40 hours a week gets 100%. |
| Benefits while part-time | yes |
| Union contract | Stanford's child tuition grant explicitly names bargaining-unit employees as eligible, and shortens the minimum appointment length for them to four months, or to whatever the collective bargaining agreement in force provides. |
