Regular-status employees who meet admission requirements get a two-thirds reduction of both systemwide tuition and the student services fee, capped at nine units or three courses per quarter or semester. It reaches most represented (unionised) staff as well as non-represented staff, but represented employees' own contract governs the detail. |

| Hours a week to qualify | UC expresses eligibility as a percentage of full time, not hours a week, and there are three tiers. FULL benefits need an appointment of at least 50% time for a year or more (or 1,000 hours in a rolling 12 months). MID-LEVEL covers 100% time for three months to a year, or 50% time in a post that misses the retirement rules. CORE benefits reach down to 43.75% time - and for per diem, casual/restricted student, by-agreement and seasonal appointments, Core needs at least 75% time for at least three months. |
