Verily is a precision-health company that builds AI-native platforms for clinical research, personalized care and population health (products include Pre, Lightpath, Viewpoint, Sightline and the Verily Me app). It began in 2015 as Alphabet's life-sciences bet, spun out of Google X, and in March 2026 announced it was starting 'its next chapter as an independent company' alongside a $300M raise from Series X Capital, Alphabet, UCHealth and CU Anschutz. Honest caveats: it has been through repeated strategy pivots and layoffs, its headquarters reportedly moved from South San Francisco to Dallas in 2024, and it is a company still very much in transition rather than a stable incumbent.
