New York, NY · founded 2007
Zocdoc has a warmer reputation than most NYC tech: company-wide Glassdoor is decent (~4.1/5 for balance and culture, ~64% recommend) and its 'voluntary, never required' in-office model in Soho gives people real flexibility. The catch is that the good culture is concentrated in the NY office, so remote staff report feeling disconnected, and sales roles draw sharply worse reviews, described by some as a high-pressure floor with churny cohorts. There have been layoffs, which employees frame as leadership and market calls rather than performance. Engineering and product tend to have a steadier, more humane experience than sales.
